Video shows Cleveland Police officers saving teen's life

Officers came to the aid of a teen shot in the stomach in Old Brooklyn.

Incredible new video captures Cleveland police officers saving a teen’s life.

It happened Jan. 9 in the Old Brooklyn neighborhood.

A 19-year-old had hobbled into the 3500 block of Bader Avenue and collapsed on a front porch.

The homeowner there called 911.

When officers arrived, they realized the teen barely spoke English. Yet it does not take a translator to see that he has been shot in the stomach.

It was dark and freezing, however, an unidentified officer wasted no time going for his first aid kit while calming the teen.

“Yeah, you can grab my leg, that’s alright, go ahead,” he told the teen. “You can grab onto me.”

But soon, the victim passed out, and when EMS didn't arrive, the officers received permission to make the life-or-death decision to drive the teen to MetroHealth.

The officers loaded the victim into a cruiser and drove him to the hospital, where doctors were able to save his life.

Turns out, the teen had been behind the wheel of a small sedan on State Road earlier in the night. An SUV pulled up next to him and blocked him before someone from the backseat fired bullets.

There has been no word on a motive and no arrests.
